Love those sexy waves you get at the end of a day at the beach? Salt and sand are great texturizers for hair, but they are actually really drying. You don’t have to sacrifice moisture to get this sexy style – here’s how no matter what your natural texture!
HOW TO: Create Waves If Your Hair is Straight
- After washing your hair, use a towel to squeeze all the excess water out so it won’t weigh down your waves.
- Detangle hair with a wide-tooth comb (TRESemmé Detangling comb is ideal).
- Take a two-inch section of hair and twist it into a pin curl and secure it to your head with a hair pin. Do this all over and let your hair air-dry.
- To speed things up, turn your hairdryer on low and hold it two inches away from each pin curl for 10 seconds. Repeat until your hair feels at least 80% dry, then take down the pin curls and spritz your whole head with TRESemmé Extra Firm Hold Hairspray. Voila, from stick-straight to super-wavy!
HOW TO: Enhance Your Natural Waves
- Apply TRESemmé Smoothing Crème to condition, and then TRESemmé Extra Control Mousse to define curls, scrunching the ends to bring out the curls.
- While your hair is still damp, pull it up into a loose bun at the crown of your head and secure it with hair pins. When your hair feels 80% dry, take down the bun.

HOW TO: Tame Curly Hair Into Loose Beachy Waves
